This is a wonderful idea. I love it. There are times I have not participated in Bible study before because I was embarrassed that I didnt know how to properly pronounce a name. No more. Now, I will proudly proclaim the name of Dorcas without even the hint of a smile. The quality of the sound recording and voice is excellent. Even when just pronouncing names, the mans voice sounds almost like a trained musician. Kind of reminds me of my kid brother. I wonder if future versions would offer a female voice. I highly recommend this and I will send a gift to our Sunday School teacher who apparently has been pronouncing many names incorrectly for some time. Great job!!

I cant count the number of times Ive stumbled on the pronunciations of different names in the Bible. And as a worship leader, I make sure that when reading passages during the service, I skip those verses that I know will display my full ignorance in front of everyone. So when coming across Bible Audio Pronunciations for the iPhone, I was instantly intrigued by the idea and as soon as I played the first name in the list and heard a crisp, clear pronunciation of the name, I was hooked. Its apps like this that continue to make my iPhone an incredible resource that assists in Biblical study. The app is fairly simple in design, and therefore incredibly easy to use. You can scroll through an alpha list of over 1,000 challenging words, names and places. Clicking on the word will allow you to hit a play button to listen to an audio pronunciation as well as get more information from Google or Wikipedia. You can also search for words and names. The app is a fantastic learning tool, reference for personal study and would also be a lot of fun with friends to see who can pronounce words the best. I can see a youth group making a great game out of this, finding the most difficult words and names in the BIble and then using that as a launching point to study and discover scripture. There is a free "Lite" version of the app that gives you access to 100 words. The full version is not an in-app purchase, but a separate download and for just $1.99, gives you access to the full 1,000+ word library. Great job. Simple. Effective. Thanks. Suggestion: it would be valuable if the app referred to actual instances of the word in the Bible. Maybe not all appearances but at least an example. I know its designed to be used alongside a bible but the app itself could lead to discovering new passages just by listening to curious word or names.

Wow! This app is just plain great. My wife and I enjoy reading the bible together and seeing whos pronouncing a certain word correctly. Whoever made this app did a great job.

Lousy app. Does not work on iPad2. Dont waste your money.

My first review was "Wow the first 2 words I looked up werent even in the data base! Euroclydon and Chedorlaomer. Big disappointment!!!" and I gave 2 stars. However, the app has been promptly updated with these 2 words, and now I sound edumacated, lol, when I preach! Thanks - 5 stars now!!!

This app is outstanding. Audible pronounciations are better than using a dictionary. The app is a "must have" for every pastor, teacher and/or anyone serious about bible study.

Paid the big bucks cuz have to read Ezra 5:1-16 tomorrow and guess what - this app doesnt have ALL names! Rip off!! Where is Tattenai? Shethar-bozenai? Sheshbazzar? This is on 1st use of the app! And Im only looking at 17 random verses! Who knows how many more lacunae lurk ? One thumbs up tho - earning 2 little stars: the names they do have are clearly spoken & the few obscure ones I do know (that are usually butchered in readings) are pronounced correctly. High quality for the things done - but oh my, way to screw your customers with things left undone! Goodbye perfect reading of dear Ezra tomorrow :( And here I thought I was going to be oh so impressive with classmates and my prof. Arrrrgh!

After a quick review, it appears that this app is missing many of the hard to prounuce names in the Bible. Is there a plan to add these names in the near future? If so I will be glad about purchasing this app, if not, I feel a bit ripped off.

Ive loved the obvious benefits of this app, but I never anticipated that it would get my kids interested on and excited about Bible study, too! They absolutely love it!

Wish had arrow to move to next word and ability to type word in play screen, but otherwise fantastic program.

Excellent for personal study and family scripture time. I also teach a group of teens in our church and they love to guess the pronounciation of the words. Its a fun way to keep their attention when normally they start to lose interest. Thank you! Sandy G

If youre expecting all the hard to pronounce names in the Bible to be in this app, youll be disappointed. But Im not. Any help is more help then Ive had in the past. I think the price is reasonable, and the author keeps adding word. Thanks!!

A must have Bible study app. I love helps a lot and I let all my friend how read the Bible to get it! And there always updating it making better. Ty guys for making this app.
